This paper was first to show the co-association of different Raf isoforms. Others have built on this work by showing pathological importance to the co-association of cRaf and BRaf in cancers where BRaf maintains oncogenic mutations.

This paper was first to show the functional importance of platelet-expressed CD40 ligand. It has importance particularly with respect to our understanding of the pathogenesis of arteriosclerosis. Since its publication, this article has been cited more than 900 times.
