PBRU - Pancreas Biomedical Research Unit

NIHR

Based at the Royal Liverpool University Hospital, the National Institute for Health Research Biomedical Research Unit is operated by the Royal Liverpool University and Broadgreen University Hospital NHS Trust, in partnership with the University of Liverpool.

Specialising in pancreatic digestive diseases, the unit focuses on translational research, offering a direct link between the laboratories and the hospital, allowing patients to benefit more quickly from new scientific breakthroughs.

Among 15 NIHR Biomedical Research Units nationwide, the Liverpool BRU will be the only one dedicated to diseases of the pancreas.  The funding will provide facilities, equipment and many new staff to translate Liverpool's research advances into better outcomes for patients.

More information can be found at the PBRU's website.
