Emma Squibb is the Liverpool CRUK Centre's Local Engagement and Development Manager.
The Local Engagement and Development Team works to increase awareness of the impact Cancer Research UK is having in the fight against cancer by bringing the Charity’s work to life in people’s own communities. LEAD is a key strand in Cancer Research UK's Centres Initiative, which is an important strategic component of the Charity’s drive to achieve its 2020 Goals. Emma Squibb has been in post since January 2010.
LEAD managers arrange for scientists to attend and speak at local fundraising events, Race for Life, etc. Supporters are given the opportunity to visit research facilities with lab tours regularly during the year. We work with local fundraisers, shop volunteers, community groups, local business and networks, schools and colleges to deliver a programme of engagement events throughout the year. |
